By establishing pathways with recognized universities in Art and Design around the globe, we provide our students with a wide array of options.
While Vancouver Animation School does not offer, grant or confer any degree in or from British Columbia, some of our educational partners do.
Below you will find a list of our current educational agreements:
Centre for Digital Media
The CDM offers a Master of Digital Media, a jointly offered degree by the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Students holding a Bachelors degree from an institution acceptable to all four CDM partner institutions and a diploma from VANAS are encouraged to pursue a Master degree at the CDM.
The CDM will provide recruitment support to the Vancouver Animation School (VANAS) to encourage eligible VANAS candidates to apply to the MDM program.
Forms of support include but are not limited to:
• Customized information sessions and webinars for VANAS students.
• General portfolio reviews
• CDM campus visits and tours
• Visits by CDM faculty and/or MDM Director (via the VANAS interactive learning management system)
Successful students classified as competitive would be considered for CDM scholarships as listed in the following website: http://thecdm.ca/program/scholarships (candidates must meet the terms of reference noted for scholarships listed).
Emily Carr University of Art and Design, University Pathway.
After graduating from a diploma program at VANAS, students will have the option to enter the workforce or to pursue a degree at ECUAD, where Emily Carr University has established the best degree pathway based on the VANAS diploma and students future careers.

Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla, Joint Program
Vancouver Animation School and University Ibero Americana Puebla will deliver a joint program with hybrid education using online and onsite models of delivery. Mexican students attending a Bachelor Degree in Art and Design at Ibero Puebla university, will have the option to pursue any of the Vancouver Animation School diploma programs, where students will receive credits to be applied to their Bachelors Degree 3rd and 4th year. Upon graduation, students will receive a degree credential from Ibero Puebla and a diploma credential by Vancouver Animation School.
Diplomas are delivered in English, by Vancouver Animation School industry professionals who are currently working at major studios in key locations around the world. Graduates are invited to the graduation ceremony in Vancouver, Canada. Vancouver Animation School does not offer, grant or confer degree programs in or from British Columbia.
The Ibero-American University Puebla (in Spanish: Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla, abbreviated UIA but commonly known as Ibero) is a Mexican private institution of higher education sponsored by the Society of Jesus. A spin-off from the main campus located in Mexico city, the Puebla campus was built after the need of a Jesuit institution in Puebla. The University has grown to become an important university for the students in the Southern region of Mexico. It has become one of the most important and biggest university in the Ibero-American University system, only after the flagship campus. It currently offers a high school program, as well as several undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Universidad Anahuac Mexico Norte
Vancouver Animation School and Universidad Anahuac Mexico Norte have developed a Study Abroad partnership among each institutions. Such partnership will allow Anahuac students to transition into VANAS specialized programs in the Animation, Visual Effects and Video Game industries. Anahuac students will have the following advantages:
- Exclusive Discounts through the partner university
- Direct Admission (no need to present an art portfolio)
- Additional Tuition Discount for top students with a 90% GPA at Anahuac Mexico
The Animation Guild
Vancouver Animation School and the Animation Guild have developed a partnership in a grant program.
In order to participate in the grant program, you must have worked at least thirty days under the Guild’s jurisdiction in the two years previous to the date the class begins.
You must apply for and be accepted for the grant before the class begins, and no more than ninety days in advance. (In other words, if you are approved and subsequently postpone taking the class, you will have to re-apply.)
The Scriptwriters Network
Vancouver Animation School has developed a partnership with the Scriptwriters network in Burbank, California by offering discount to the current SWN members on Writing for Animation classes.
Whether you are a filmmaker, a screenwriter, a television scriptwriter or involved in screenwriting for non-traditional media, the Writing for Animation courses can provide practical instruction in the entire writing process and prepare you for the industry to grow your network. http://scriptwritersnetwork.com
